CogniState offers a long distance rate of only 2.7 cent per minute for state to state calls, as well as very competitive in-state long distance rates. Billing increments are 6 seconds for in-state and international long distance calls (30 second minimum international), and 60 seconds for state-to-state long distance calls.
There is never a monthly fee for CogniState long distance when using online billing and automated credit card payments. Billing through postal mail is offered as a courtesy option, and a $1.99 billing fee will apply for this option in months where usage is less than $20. CogniState charges standard taxes as all other long distance carriers. There is no "Carrier Recovery Charge" with CogniState long distance.
Cogni State long distance is a tiered service, and the above rates only apply in tier A areas. Calls from tier B and tier C areas are billed in the same increments, but priced at 4.9 cent/minute (tier B) or 7.9 cent/minute (tier C) for state-to-state calls. CogniState in-state long distance rates also vary by tier, and are shown in the CogniState intrastate rates list.
CogniState international long distance rates are not tiered, and international phone calls will be billed at the same rates from all areas. International calls have a mimimum duration of 30 seconds per call, and are billed in six second increments thereafter.
