10-10-987 raise prices again and again - consumers beware
10-10-987 long distance used to be a decent 1010 long distance service, advertising a price of 3 cents per minute, and 39 cents to connect. Of course, this meant that even a call to an answering machine would cost 42 cents with 1010987, but if you called for an extended time, the effective rate per minute was decent at the time. However, while traditional long distance carriers kept reducing their rates, 10 10 987 went the other way; virtually eliminating advertising, and quietly increasing their connection fee to 46 cents,and then later to 53 cents. Many international rates were also increased, and surcharges were added for calls to cellphones in many countries. In most cases 10-10-987 are no longer competitive in my opinion.

10-10-987 is offered by TeleCom*USA (MCI Worldcom). The 1010987 dial-around long distance service is available in most areas of the US. Pre-registration for 1010 987 is not needed, and calls are billed on your local phone bill.

After a recent price increase, 10 10 987 now has a 53 cents connection fee for all domestic calls, and charges a USF fee. State-to-state long distance as well as in-state long distance costs 3 cents per minute. 1010987 international rates (and coresponding connection fees) vary, and are often higher than the listed domestic rates. International calls to cellular phones used to carry no additional cost with 1010987. However, 10-10-987 long distance are now adding per minute surcharges of up to 27 cents per minute for international calls to cellular phones, making the service much less competitive.

TeleCom USA is also behind the 1010321 and 1010220 dial-around long distance plans. We have found previous price change practices by TeleCom USA to be questionable (steep increases once people get used to dialing the code).
