10-10-457 is offered by VarTec Telecom under the Excel Telecommunications name. VarTec also offers the 1010297 and 1010811 services. VarTec Telecom filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on November 1, 2004 but VarTec's 1010 long distance services are still available.

The 1010457 dial-around long distance service is available in most areas of the US, but not for customers utilizing Excel Communications as long distance carrier. Pre-registration for 1010 457 is not needed, and calls are billed on your local phone bill.

10 10 457 has a 5 minute minimum for all calls, a minimum 15 cents connection charge per call (40 cents for international calls), and charges a USF fee as well as a $1 "carrier cost recovery fee" in any month you use the service. State-to-state long distance costs 10 cent/min from 7:00 Am to 6:69 PM, and 4 cent/min at other times. In-state and international rates vary, and are in most cases higher.
