10-10-321 Dial Around Long Distance

10-10-321 raise prices again and again - consumers beware
10-10-321 long distance used to be a decent 1010 long distance service, advertising half price on all calls over 10 minutes. Of course, the advertising said little about the basic price for this half off offer. However, while traditional long distance carriers kept reducing their rates, 10 10 321 went the other way; virtually eliminating advertising, and quietly increasing their prices and eliminating their discount for longer calls. International calls with 10-10-321 are now very expensive, and domestic calls need to be priced individually (for my test numbers I got a rate of 20 cent per minute, up from 18 cents last time I checked), and I would not be surprised to see it go even higher in the future. 10-10-321 rates are no longer competitive in my opinion.

10-10-321 long distance overview:

10-10-321 is offered by TeleCom*USA (MCI Worldcom). The 1010321 dial-around long distance service is available in most areas of the US. Pre-registration for 1010 321 is not needed, and calls are billed on your local phone bill.

10 10 321 has a one minute minimum per call, and charges a USF fee. State-to-state long distance costs used to be 20 cent/min for calls under 10 minutes, and 10 cent/min for calls over 10 minutes. In-state and international rates vary, and are in most cases higher.
The website now asks you to price each call individually, and came up with very high rates for the number combinations we tested (flat rate of 20 cent per minute).

TeleCom USA is also behind the 1010220 and 1010987 dial-around long distance plans. We have found previous price change practices by TeleCom USA to be questionable (steep increases once people get used to dialing the code). If you remember TV ads for 10-10-321, you too will realize that 10-10-321 is no longer anything close to the good deal it was once portrayed to be. We would therefore like to emphasize:
