10-10-220 Dial Around Long Distance

10-10-220 raise prices again and again - consumers beware
10-10-220 long distance used to be a decent 1010 long distance service, advertising a price of 99 cents for all calls up to 20 minutes. Of course, this meant that even a call to an answering machine would cost 99 cents with 1010220, but if you called for 20 minutes, paying about 5 cents per minute was decent at the time. However, while traditional long distance carriers kept reducing their rates, 10 10 220 went the other way; virtually eliminating advertising, and quietly reducing the time allowed for 99 cents to 15 minutes,and then later to only 10 minutes. The cost after these initial 20, sorry 15, uhm... 10 minutes also increased; 10-10-220 used to cost 7 cent/minute after the initial period - now this is up to 15 cents/minute, and I would not be surprised to see it go even higher in the future. Needless to say, 10-10-220 international rates have also increased substantially, and are no longer competitive in my opinion.

10-10-220 long distance overview:

10-10-220 long distance is offered by TeleCom*USA (MCI Worldcom). The 1010-220 dial-around long distance service is available in most areas of the US. Pre-registration for 1010 220 is not needed, and calls are billed on your local phone bill.

10 10 220 has a 10 minute minimum for all domestic calls, and charges a USF fee. State-to-state long distance as well as in-state long distance with 10-10-220 costs 99 cents for all calls up to 10 minutes, and 15 cent/minute after that. 10-10-220 international rates vary, are much higher than the listed domestic rates, and calls to cellphones carry an additional surcharge in many countries.

TeleCom USA is also behind the 1010321 and 1010987 dial-around long distance plans. We have found previous price change practices by TeleCom USA to be questionable (steep increases once people get used to dialing the code). If you remember TV ads for 10-10-220, you too will realize that 10-10-220 is no longer anything close to the good deal it was once portrayed to be. We would therefore like to emphasize:
